Updated: Oct 27, 2020

Named one of the ten most highly regarded corporate lawyers worldwide, Rick is leading the charge to redefine corporate America by overhauling the capital markets to address the systemic issues and structures that hinder a just and sustainable economy.

Rick was behind the creation of the public benefit corporations a new style of corporate structure that balances making a profit with serving a public need. He also served as Head of Legal Policy at B Lab the organization behind the B-Corporation and has written three books, including Benefit Corporation Law and Governance: Pursuing Profit with Purpose and provides guidance.

His latest venture The Shareholder Commons is promoting the concept of establishing ‘guard rails’ around investments allowing investors to ensure a company is prioritizing vital environmental and social systems over company profits, whilst preserving the critical pricing function of free markets.

Our sister company Earth is a public benefit corporation and has benefitted from guidance and support from Rick. He comes highly recommended.
